The crown prince is kinda dumb…idk what the OG FL brother told him, but if you consider that the OG FL is a rich girl and probably doesn’t know how to fend for herself, bringing her along will just be a burden. Even if she can, that still isn’t a good idea. Like why would you go to a distant place in this caotic scenario? The others had their reason, but I can’t seem to see a good motive for them lol… Even if it is for her brother/his friend they don’t even know if he’s alive. Anyways, I don’t remember all of the OG story so it will probably show a good reason eventually (doubt it), but I think they go to the rural area because the capital is being destroyed and becomes the place with the most infections (is that correct?)
