I’m excited to read more of this story. Evony is sweet and determined, and her love interest, Duke Schneider, is supportive and devoted without being a walking red flag. There is an actual story beyond a sweet romance, and Evony has her own agendas beyond seeking justice for herself, including supporting other women in similar tragic situations. The setting, the misogyny, the divine right of kings, and the class system are explored as part of the setting, rather than simply handwaved as facts of life. I think this story is worth reading.
